Fertility treatments are both stressful, and expensive. Your aim, which isn’t always achievable, is to select the best clinic where you are likely to succeed the first time.
There are a number of fertility clinics, so you need to find a way of selecting one against another.
- Start by looking up information about the clinics. Look online and ask others who have used their services. Weigh out the feedback you receive so as to make an objective decision.
- Where is the clinic located? Is it easy for you to get there? Remember that fertility treatments require multiple clinic visits.
- Is it easy to book an appointment? This should be easy, either online or by phone or email. If you can’t get through, and nobody responds to you, think again.
- Do a background check on the clinic’s professional. You want a team with relevant qualifications and experience.
- There’s no harm in making an initial casual visit just to have a ‘feel’. What is the atmosphere like? How did the reception staff reply to your questions? Ask for additional information during this visit, it should be freely provided.
- Find out how much your initial doctor’s visit will cost.
Once you have decided where to go, make an appointment.
- Continue to be observant during your first doctor’s visit. You should be able to realise whether you have made the right choice, or not.
- Ask for additional information after your consultation, like how successful they have been, and overall costs of the fertility treatment they have suggested for you.
Once fully satisfied, proceed with treatment at your selected clinic. If you are still unsure, start the clinic selection process again until you find a clinic you are comfortable with
