Frequently Asked Questions

You can find answers to your Frequently Asked Questions here.

How much does an IVF treatment cost?

We advised our patients to plan for approx. KES 700,000. This would cover your consultations, blood tests, scans, semen analysis and infection screening prior to starting treatment. As well as the IVF treatment which would include the treatment drugs, egg retrieval, embryology lab procedures, 1st embryo transfer, initial pregnancy test and scan and 1 year of freezing any extra viable embryos.

When is the pregnancy test performed?

The pregnancy test is performed 14 days after the embryo transfer. It is a blood test, not a home urine test.

What happens if I become pregnant?

If pregnant, you will be asked to return to the clinic for repeat blood tests and eventually an ultrasound to ensure an ongoing successful pregnancy. You will be referred for antenatal care at an appropriate time to an Obstetrician of your choice.

If I am not pregnant, when can we try again?

Your review with our consultant will guide on the appropriate time to start another treatment cycle.
